Basically.....I cant get GTA SA to run on win 7

when ever i try to go onto the game it comes up fine then stops and i get a message saying "gta_sa.exe has stopped working" any suggestions??? anyone using the game on win 7??? hellllppp =]

Can you post a screen shot ?

First off.....

Windows 7 has a new security system, you need to either...

1. right click it and click run as admin ALL OF THE TIME

2. right click it and got to properties, under the compatibility tab at the bottom, check the box "run as admin". That will make it so it always runs as admin.

3. if this does work do the same has above for samp.

4. if that still doesn't work make sure you gta sa is 1.0

5. if non of the above works you will need to post a screen shot and your pc specs/stats

im using windows 7 and i dont need to run as admin... wierd
did you install nvidia? u need that to run gta sa

nvidia is a graphics card, you don't need the software if you don't have the card...

I have Win 7 x64 Along with win XP x64 and they both run fine with sa

Are you sure you put the crack for san andreas in the right folder?

Try running it in compatibility mode for vista or XP.

In Windows 7 gtasa & sa-mp is compatible from the very start, making any changes to the compatibility configurations will only lead to further frustration.

update your video drivers is the best recommendation I can give.

Edit: Both legal and ripped version work off the bat in windows 7 as long as your client & video drivers are properly updated.

Edit: for mar, UAC system in win7 is not intrusive as it was in vista, so that means no you do not have to run as administrator unless your using a limited account.

You do know that windows 7 problems are mainly cause by UAC right? I suggest you read the sa-mp forum sometime.

However it would help to update drivers, saying that is is unlikely that UAC causes any sa-mp problems is just bullshit.
